THE WREN
The wren has a creamey breast and black brown all over .The wrens nest is dome shaped. The entrance is a tiny round hole.Wrens may be seen nearly everywhere.They are at home in gardens hedges and woodland and in some of the most barren parts of the country anywhere there aer a few bushes for cover wrens may be found.They live on small insects and spiders which they find amongst the leaves or twigs.Since they seldom eat any vegetables material they do not appreciate crumbs and ar rarley seen on bird tables.Wrens nests are made of moss and grasses with a lining of feathers.They are usually placed in holes.Nesting begins in April and there are usually two broods.Wrens are the second smallest Irish birds.They are easily recognised by their stumpy tails.
