Travelling

The Vikings travelled from country to country on ships. The Viking raided a lot of places. They travelled around in longships. The Viking left their homeland to fight, trade and settle in most of the coastal region of Europe . The Vikings were farmers too. When the father died the eldest son would take over the farm. The Vikings had to take long journeys. When the Vikings were lost out in the sea they would look at the sun and then they would know which way to go.

Wild Life

The summer was short, and the winter was long and very cold in Scandinavia. It might have been slightly milder in the Viking times. The bear the fox and the marten would have provided the Vikings with warm coats and coverings. The deer and the elk would have provided the Vikings with meat. Furs and Hides would have been valuable to sell.
