School
Football teams 2001
Every year we play in
competitions organised by Cumann na mBunscol Uíbh Fháilí.
This year our school team was in division five and our first match was
against Clonbullogue and we won it. Our second match was against Ballybryan
and we won that one too. About a week later we travelled to Mountbolus
where we were defeated by Coolanarney by two points. Our fourth match was
a very important game in Rhode against Lumcluain which we won with a lot
of hard work. Now we were in a final in O'Connor park which is probably
the nicest pitch in Ireland. Our final was against Coolanarney and it was
a very exciting and close game but we won in the end. We got a plaque and
we will be getting medals soon.
This is our team from
one to eleven, Liam Fox, Keith Kerrigan, Joseph Kelly, Patrick Delaney,
Jason Henry, Jamie Hayes (c), Michael Mc Closkey, Therese Hickey, Thomas
Boland, Ross Kennedy and Patrick Harney. Unfortunately Michael Delaney
was unable to play because he was very ill and we wish him a speedy recovery.
