The Puffin
Puifín;   Puffin;  Frayercula Arctica;

The Puffin breeds in the north Atlantic, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Britain, Ireland, the Channel Islands and Brittany. The Puffin has a large strong bill to dig their nest. They eat Sprats and sand-ells. Their eggs are pinkish white. They are easily recognised by their white face and triangular red and yellow bills. They are 275mm long when their wings are out. They are 160mm when they are closed. They weigh about 420gms. They are very good swimmers and they are bad fliers.
